IT’S GOING DOWN…TONIGHT!!! Campus Harvest Southeast is kicking off tonight in Jacksonville, FL!!! The team at Southpoint Community Church and Campus Harvest team have been working tirelessly to prepare for the students that will arrive tonight for this amazing encounter. Yesterday the regional worship team arrived and rehearsed most of the day…the atmosphere is being set.

Again, if you haven’t registered or you’re still on the fence, in the words of James Brown, you need to “GET UP OFF OF THAT THANG”…and COME!

One of the great reasons to come is RHEMA SOUL!

Rhema Soul is a next level hip hop trio comprised of “juanlove”, “Butta P”, and “K-Nuff”; based out of South Florida but making waves nationally and across the globe. They come with a perfect blend of heart provoking life challenging lyrics, hot beats, and memorable hooks that will make you wanna sing em over and over again (especially if you have a 5 and 3yr old that are addicted to them).

With a combination of creativity, fearless artistry, relentless hustle, and the favor of God they have steadily risen above the crowded atmosphere of MC’s into a class of their own.

Not only will they be performing LIVE TONIGHT at the Campus Harvest after party but they will also join our “Guerrilla Artistry” panel discussion where we’ll discuss the use of creativity for Kingdom impact and cultural change.

Check out this video from Rhema Soul and make sure you come out!!!

As previously mentioned, I am very excited about Campus Harvest in Jacksonville this weekend. Two of the reasons I am particularly pumped about this year are JohnnySwim and Rhema Soul. Both of these musical groups have been taking their musical scenes by storm and doing so for the glory of God. Over the next two days I’m gonna give you a glimpse of what you can look forward to.

First off, JohnnySwim.

JohnnySwimJohnnySwim is comprised of the amazing husband and wife duo, Abner and Amanda Ramirez. I first had the priviledge of connecting with Abner, a Jacksonville native, several years back in Nashville, TN. He had moved to Nashville pursuing music, while God was really pursuing him. As you would imagine, God got His man. For a season of my time in Nashville we lived in the same house and I got to watch God working in and through him first hand. Then God really rocked his world by blessing him with his amazing wife Amanda.

The two of them have a sound together that I quite frankly find unfair (I’m still processing my covetousness). However, the sound they bring is so much deeper than the music itself. There is a purity of heart and a richness of soul that comes across in each vocal phrase. Though many of their original songs would most likely be considered “mainstream”, their music carries the life of God all over it.

I’m excited to say that this weekend JohnnySwim will be playing at our after party, speaking on our panel of creatives for the seminar “Guerrilla Artistry”, as well as joining our worship team throughout the weekend.

Enjoy this video of their song “Hallelujah”.

For the first time ever, Campus Harvest is coming to Jacksonville, FL…THIS WEEKEND!!! Students from all over the Southeast region will be gathering at Southpoint Community Church to encounter God and be forever changed. For over 20yrs Campus Harvest has served as a catalyst for transformation in the hearts of students all over the world and this year will be no exception! Already this year Campus Harvest has hosted student conferences in Calgary, Los Angeles, and Durham, NC.

I’ve had the joy of being a part of the Campus Harvest team for the last 12yrs, but every year I am reminded about the first time I attended. In 2001, I was invited to attended Campus Harvest by a friend of mine from our local church dance team who refused to take no for an answer. I was reluctant to come because I knew God was drawing me in and wanting to speak to me, but I had become quite comfortable playing the role of Jonah and pretending not to care.

I boarded the white 15 passenger van intentionally sitting shotgun because I didn’t want to have to talk to the “happy christian white kids in the back”. I now realize that the opposition and resistance I was feeling was the reeling of every oppressive circumstance and influencing lie that knew the end was coming for them.
